Welcome, NORDP.

You support faculty who are doing some of the most important work in their fields. You also know better than most how much operational friction stands between a research center’s potential and its actual output.

That’s exactly the problem HL Dynamics was built to solve.

Two Ways to Engage

The Research Operations Assessment

For centers where something isn’t working and you need a clear, honest picture of what — and what to do about it.

We talk with faculty, postdocs, students, and staff. We map where friction in planning, coordination, and execution is costing time and momentum. We deliver a written findings report and a live debrief with your office and center leadership — plus tailored workflow framework options built around how that team actually operates.

Scope: research workflow and project execution only. Not financial systems, compliance, data infrastructure, or administrative operations.

Embedded Workflow Design and Implementation

For centers ready to build. We work directly alongside the research team — present in working sessions, building in real time — until the operational structure is in place and the team owns it completely.

Engagements are structured with the RD office as the contracting partner. Funding typically aligns with leadership development budgets, faculty support funding, or indirect cost structures.

Where to Start

Most teams begin with the Assessment. It gives everyone a shared picture of the problem before any implementation begins — and gives you something concrete to bring to your VP of Research.

Not sure if either engagement is the right fit yet? That’s what the consultation is for.

Schedule Your Free 30-Minute Consulation

We’re offering free 30-minute consultations for NORDP attendees — at the conference and after.

No pitch. Just a conversation about where your faculty’s research operations are today, where the gaps are, and what a realistic path forward might look like.

About

HL Dynamics is a woman-owned small business based in Ogden, Utah, serving research organizations across the United States. Our background is rooted in engineering and technical R&D across aerospace, defense, biotech, energy, and materials — which means we understand how research actually works before we ever walk into a center.
